HONDA will release the CB1300 SUPER FOUR, CB1300 SUPER BOL D'OR, CB1300 SUPER FOUR SP and CB1300 SUPER BOL D'OR SP, the flagship models of the CB series, equipped with a liquid-cooled 4-stroke DOHC inline 4-cylinder 1,284cc engine, on March 18, 2021 (Thursday) with electronic control devices that achieve high-quality and comfortable riding.
The CB1300 SUPER FOUR, CB1300 SUPER BOL D'OR, CB1300 SUPER FOUR SP and CB1300 SUPER BOL D'OR SP have undergone model changes with the development keyword of maximizing the fun of riding a large-displacement model.
The throttle-by-wire system (TBW) enables more precise control of the throttle valve in response to throttle grip operation, allowing the rider to select the SPORT, STANDARD or RAIN riding feeling according to the riding conditions and rider preference. The "Riding Mode" and "HONDA Selectable Torque Control (HSTC)*1" contribute to maximizing the rider's enjoyment of control. In addition, "Cruise Control" contributes to reducing rider fatigue and providing high quality and comfortable ride by setting a fixed speed for long-distance travel such as on expressways, allowing the rider to cruise without operating the gas pedal.
The Quickshifter*2 is available as a factory-installed accessory that enables quick and smooth upshifting and downshifting without the need to operate the clutch while driving. In addition, an emergency stop signal system is adopted to quickly notify the following vehicle of emergency braking by flashing the hazard lamps at high speed when braking suddenly.
Two color schemes are available for the CB1300 SUPER FOUR and CB1300 SUPER BOL D'OR: Pearl Sunbeam White with a red frame and gold crankcase cover for a luxurious feel, and Beta Silver Metallic with a black frame and crankcase for a calm impression.
The CB1300 SUPER FOUR SP and CB1300 SUPER BOL D'OR SP are available in two colors, Pearl Hawks Eye Blue and Candy Chromosphere Red, with the same color scheme as before but with red stitching on the seat for a sportier look.
The CB1300 series inherits the lineage of the first-generation CB1000 SUPER FOUR model from 1992, which embodied the concept of "Project BIG-1"*3. In response to the demands of users and the times, for 2018, the CB1300 adopts special front forks and rear suspension developed jointly with OHLINS, and BREMBO radial-mounted monoblock opposed 4-pot calipers for the front brakes, in pursuit of a sportier and higher-quality ride. With the addition of the SUPER FOUR SP and CB1300 SUPER BOL D'OR SP, the range of choices has been expanded.
*1 HONDA Selectable Torque Control is not a system designed to eliminate slipping. The HONDA Selectable Torque Control is a system that assists the rider's accelerator operation, and therefore, as with a vehicle not equipped with HONDA Selectable Torque Control, it does not allow for unreasonable driving.
*2 Manufacturer's suggested retail price (including 10% consumption tax): 26,950 yen (main unit price without consumption tax: 24,500 yen) Not compatible with previous models.
*3 Thoroughly pursued, "What should HONDA's road sports model be like in the new era?"
- Must be equipped with a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, inline 4-cylinder engine.
- The build of the motorcycle should be sexy and wild.
- The basic concept is to have an emotional performance that fascinates people who drive.
