Yamaha Motor will release the 2022 model of the PW50, a fun motorcycle for kids with an automatic engine, on October 28, 2021.
The 2022 model features colors and graphics that relate to the 2022 model of the YZ series of advanced off-road racers.
The PW50 is an introductory off-road model for children weighing 25 kg or less, and has been a long-selling model for more than 40 years since its first generation. The main features of the PW50 include: 1) an automatic engine that can be operated simply by turning the throttle, 2) a lightweight and small body that is easy to handle, 3) shaft drive that requires little maintenance, and 4) left and right lever hand brakes that are operated like a bicycle.

The PW50 has not been certified by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, so it cannot obtain a license plate. It cannot be driven on the road. Driving on roads is a violation of the Road Traffic Law and the Road Trucking Vehicle Law. Private roads, precincts of temples and shrines, seashores, embankments, farm roads, forest roads, and other areas where people and vehicles can freely enter and exit, even if they do not have the form of roads, are considered to be roads.
