KAWASAKI has unexpectedly released a teaser video in Europe called "Retrovolution is coming". Although the 16-second video provides very little information, it seems to suggest that KAWASAKI will release a Z900RS or similar style motorcycle instead of the W800.
A man and a woman stopped at an intersection waiting for a traffic light can only glimpse the shape around the bar.
KAWASAKI's 16-second video, entitled "Retrovolution is coming", depicts two riders waiting for a traffic light at an intersection, with only the rear mirror, handlebars and a little dashboard visible. The video depicts two cyclists waiting at an intersection for a light.
At first glance is the rear mirror. It is almost identical to the Z900RS and W800 Street, and the dashboard, which appears only in the corner, seems to be close to the double cylinder shape of the Z900RS, and the grip position is not as upright as that of the W800 series, judging from the riding position of female riders.
From the above speculation, you might think it is a special version of the Z900RS to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Z model line next year? But the Z900RS was just released last week as a high-end SE version of the Yellow ball, and its brake master cylinder is not a freestanding design like the Z900RS, but a normal one-piece structure. From these clues, we can deduce that this is a mid-displacement neo-classic with the styling of the Z900RS, but without the performance and luxury of the Z900RS.
This means that it is likely to be a new classical motorcycle in the 600~650cc class! According to the Z900RS is based on the Z900, the new model is likely to be Z650RS, which is based on the Z650 with a twin-cylinder engine and steel tube frame.
At the end of the video, KAWASAKI leaves a clue that "Retrovolution is coming" and that the new model will make its debut at the EICMA Milan Motor Show at the end of the year, is it?
