Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. will begin accepting reservations for the 2022 season of the "YZF-R1 Race Base Model," a model exclusively for road racing competition and track riding, on September 17, and will be released on February 28, 2022 for a limited reservation period.
The "YZF-R1 Race Base Model is based on the 2021 model year supersport YZF-R1, and is designed for racing and other circuit applications. It continues to use electronic control systems such as YCC-T (electronic throttle control), which incorporates APSG (gas pedal position sensor grip), EBM (engine brake management), and BC (brake control). No changes have been made to the previous model.
The first round of orders will be taken from September 17 to September 30, 2021, and the second round from October 1 to November 30, 2021.
*Ships without headlamps, position lamps, mirrors, horn, tandem seat, tandem steps, rear fender cover and graphics.
*Purchase bonus: "Wiring Harness Set" and "ECU" (including F.I. matching software), which are dedicated parts for circuit driving, will be shipped separately from the main unit.
*The "YZF-R1 Race Base Model" has not been certified by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and therefore cannot obtain a license plate. It also cannot be driven on roads. Riding on a road is a violation of the Road Traffic Law and the Road Trucking Vehicle Law. Private roads, precincts of temples and shrines, seashores, embankments, farm roads, forest roads, and other areas where people and vehicles can freely enter and exit, even if they do not have the form of roads, are considered to be roads.
