Suzuki announced the KATANA, which will be a new model for 2022, at EICMA held in Milan, Italy from November 23. The planned introduction date in Japan has not been announced.
Improvements similar to the previously announced GSX-S1000 are applied to the KATANA
Based on the GSX-S1000, the KATANA gets the same updates as the GSX-S1000 when it is redesigned for 2021. The major change is the adoption of an electronically controlled throttle to comply with emissions regulations. In addition, a new up-and-down quickshifter and mode selector have been introduced.
The camshafts were modified and the valve timing was changed. The muffler has two larger catalytic converters and the exhaust pipe and silencer have been modified to improve mid-range power and maximum output by 2PS.
The handlebars are rubber mounted like the GSX-S1000GT to reduce vibration transmitted to the hands. Two colors are available: metallic matte stellar blue and solid iron gray.
