High-performance SR built with friends
Custom machines are usually the result of discussions between a custom store and the owner, or the owner himself. However, the one introduced here is a little different.
It was originally customized at Thruxton, a well-known SR custom store, but was brought to Ninegate for a complete image change. However, the one-off parts were not actually done by Ninth Gate.
Many of Thruxton's former regulars who have been riding SRs for a long time are in fact privateers who specialize in fields outside of the store's expertise and are also longtime "friends" with the owner of this machine. Therefore, as one of the production concepts for this project, we decided to create a "high-performance SR" machine that can be built by everyone.
The owners and their friends will share their ideas, and then use their skills to fuse them into a single custom machine. This is a machine that we all enjoyed working on together.
says Mr. Hosoi, the representative of Nine Gates.
Yes, the one-off tail cowl and paint job were all done by the hands of the team members.
Nine Gates took care of the fitting, parts selection, overall design, and balance adjustment.
Of course, the production and installation of these parts was not a simple process, but it is a good memory now.
As the design motif of the stealth fighter-inspired body suggests, the low, small exterior contrasts strikingly with the luxurious undercarriage that fully demonstrates the performance of the engine. The silhouette is a perfect fusion of a bratty image that exudes an American taste and a sleek European café, as one would expect from Nine Gates.
Incidentally, this machine will make its first public appearance at the SR Meeting to be held in Hakone on Sunday, October 29, 2022.
Those who attend the event are encouraged to check out the actual car.

[Detail]

The HIGH SIDER headlights were chosen. The unique lens design gives the simple front mask a unique look.

Battlefacilito separate handlebars are set on the stock TZ250 top bridge. The speedometer is a COGNITOMOTO, a type that uses GPS, which has become popular in recent years.

The uniquely designed handle switches are also a point of interest. The attention to detail gives the machine great individuality and a sense of unity to the custom concept.

The fuel tank is a one-off. The fuel tank is lowered to create the silhouette of the machine. The paint was done by the owner's fellow privateer. The darker color scheme creates a "dirty" atmosphere without being gaudy.

Front and rear 17-inch spoked wheels are fitted, and the calipers are stock YZF-R1 calipers. The calipers are stock YZF-R1 calipers, and the machine is designed to draw out the full power of the 534 cc engine.

500 stock crankshaft with Wiseco pistons and Yoshimura ST-1M camshafts. The carburetor is an FCR φ39, and a Beltran exhaust system was chosen. The performance of the engine was greatly improved.

The seat cowl is a one-off by a colleague. The completion of the seat cowl was extremely difficult, as it reflected the particularities of both the owner, Ninegate, and the creator. However, the finished parts are as perfect as you can see!

Öhlins set on Craftsman swingarm, well balanced with the front that uses the OEM TZ250 forks.
