Kawasaki Motors Japan has announced the 2024 models of its KX series motocrossers and KLX series fun off-roaders. The new KX450 and KX450X are fully redesigned, with a newly designed cylinder head and downdraft intake. The frame and exterior were also redesigned. The other models have not undergone major specification changes, but have been updated with new colors and graphics.
Both KX450 / KX450X will be released on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
The KX450 is priced at (approx.) 7584 USD and the KX450X at (approx.) 7738 USD.
KX450
The fully redesigned KX450 features a revised intake and exhaust layout for improved engine performance. The newly designed frame combines excellent straight-line performance with nimble handling and a slimmer design that facilitates weight transfer. The side covers have been redesigned for easier maintenance, and a Connect function has been added that enables mapping adjustments via smartphone linkage.
Major changes from the 2023 model year
- Adoption of a newly designed downdraft intake that feeds the air mixture linearly into the combustion chamber for improved engine performance
- Newly designed aluminum perimeter frame to match the updated engine intake and exhaust system
- Brembo front calipers and master cylinder
- ODI lock-on grips provide excellent grip comfort and are easily replaced with screw-on grips.
- Newly designed engine shrouds, side covers, and rear fenders
- Quick-release side covers on the side covers
- Power mode function with two engine maps selectable by pressing the Mode (M) button
- Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) with two traction settings that can be selected with the Traction (T) button, or the system can be turned off
- Rideology the APP KX smartphone app allows users to access engine maps and make adjustments.

Like the KX450, the KX450X has undergone a full model change, but exclusive equipment includes 21-inch front/18-inch rear Cross Country wheels and a convenient side stand as standard. Other changes are the same as for the KX450.
