Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has announced that it will accept orders for the 2024 model year for its supersport YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 race base models. There are no specification changes from the previous models.
The order period is divided into two phases, with the first phase running from Friday, September 15 to Thursday, October 5, 2023. The second order period is scheduled to run from October 6, 2023 (Friday) to November 30, 2023 (Thursday). The YZF-R1 is priced at (approx.) 15210 USD and the YZF-R6 at (approx.) 8964 USD.
Optimized model for circuit driving will be lined up again this year, with delivery scheduled for February 29 or later.
The YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 race-based models are dedicated to circuit use, with the ZYF-R1 based on the 2021 model year and the YZF-R6 based on the 2020 model year. They are equipped specifically for circuit use, such as racing and track days, and from the outset do not feature any safety parts for public road use.
The YZF-R1 race base model continues to use the same electronic control systems as before, including YCC-T (electronically controlled throttle) with APSG (accelerator position sensor grip) incorporated, EBM (engine brake management), and BC (brake control).
The color lineup includes one color, Black Metallic X (black), and the price remains unchanged at (approx.) 15208 USD.
The YZF-R6 race base model continues to feature the same front suspension and front brakes as the YZF-R1 race base model, in addition to electronic devices such as the traction control system and quick shifter. The color lineup includes one color, Matte Dark Gray Metallic 6 (Matte Dark Gray), priced at (approx.) 8963 USD.
The price has increased by (approx.) 367 USD from the previous model.
The order period and release date are the same for both, with the first round of orders from September 15, 2023 (Friday) to October 5, 2023 (Thursday).
The second order period is from October 6, 2023 (Friday) to November 30, 2023 (Thursday).
Deliveries of the first round of orders will begin on February 29, 2024 (Thursday), and the release date and deliveries of the second round of orders will begin in late April 2024.
