Instead of the conventional floating disk with a round pin shape, the direct drive has a T-shape structure that floats. As a result, the T-type discs have a surface contact instead of the point contact of the conventional pin-type discs, which reduces the horizontal rattling, and the vertical force in the direction of rotation is firmly received by the surface.
In addition, the surface contact allows heat from the outer rotor to be conducted to the inner rotor more efficiently, resulting in better heat dissipation. The result is high controllability, braking power, and durability.
