Introducing the custom motorcycle that has been submitted to the Webike Community "MOTO HACK Custom Motorcycle Contest" campaign!
Meet the custom motorcycle from Self Driver who rides the CBR1000RR.
Motorcycle and self-introduction
[Self-introduction]
I usually commute to work with my wife's Vino, touring with my beloved CBR on weekends and holidays, simple maintenance and customization by myself. Touring is mainly in the Tokai and Kii Peninsula.
Motorcycle history
I got my standard motorcycle when I was 19, and my big two-wheeler when I was 22, and I've been riding a motorcycle for seven years now.
[Motorcycles] I was going to do some customization to solve the frustration I felt when I rode the previous generation CB650F on the track, but I thought it would be wiser to switch to a new CBR1000RR SC59 the last model for the cost.
But I ended up spending a lot of money on customizing the CBR as well and ended up looking swamped (lol).
Customization of the particulars
[Directionality]
I've been trying to keep the stock silhouette and make it a fun motorcycle to ride, but after a fall about 3 years ago, the exterior was wrecked and I changed the exterior color to the rebel blue I've always wanted. My style in the exhaust system has changed though.
[Points that I think are cool]
There are several, but the best is the exterior color, rebel blue. It's my favorite and I'm very satisfied with it because the color looks great when it's exposed to sunlight on a sunny day.
[Points of change in performance]
I'm not sure I'd call it performance, but first of all, the footpeg and tank cover improve the riding position and fit. Next, the brake touch is stabilized by the brake customization, and the driving performance is improved by the external wheel.
Custom Points
Custom paint
I asked the shop to paint my Honda matte black exterior to VOLVO label blue, and they did a pretty good job. Well, there are already a lot of scratches from stepping stones and stuff.
Rebel blue
Brand: OZ Racing
Product name: OZ-5S PIEGA Aluminum Forged Wheel
Forged aluminum racing wheel made by OZ which you all know, I got at the outlet at a cheap price. They are very accurate and the motorcycle rides straighter than the stock wheels. As a result of the lighter spring lowering, the suspension setting was a bit lost. It really rides straight.
Downsize conversion along with wheel change.
Brand: EK Chain
Product surface: ThreeD Chain 520Z
Brand: Sunstar
Product name: Front sprocket For 520
Brand: Sunstar
Product name: Racing steel sprocket Rear 42T for OZ
It's almost 30,000km since I changed it, but it doesn't deteriorate too fast.
Brand: TSR Technical Sports Racing
Product name: 2-position Rearset Standard (Reverse Change)SC77
I was looking for a simple step with single plate and high rigidity, and I found this footpeg for SC77. The stock exhaust system is still attached. The brake switch is hydraulic.
Brand: Sunstar
Product name: Works Expanded Front Disc Rotors T5.5mm
The stock rotors (t4.5mm) had insufficient heat capacity, and the pistons kept coming back on winding roads and circuits, so I had to replace them. It is good.

Brand: Gale Speed
Product name: Elaborate master cylinder [VRE series] brake master 17.5mm
Brand: ZCOO Ceramic Sintered
Product name: Brake Pad Ceramic Sintered ZRM-T005
Brand: Goodridge
Product name: Build-A-Line Universal Brake Hose for On-Road Models
Brand: Gale Speed
Product name: Monofloating Disc Rotor (Rear)
Brand: TSR Technical Sports Racing
Product name: Works Type Tank Shelter (SC59)
There it is again, TSR (lol). This is the one that the shop mechanics enthusiastically recommend and the acquaintances who use it also enthusiastically recommend. It's expensive, but it's an excellent product with good rigidity, good hold feeling, and good appearance. Recommended.
Stomp grips are for earlier models and generic to the frame.
Brand: Stomp Grip
Product name: Traction Pad Street Motorcycle Kit SC59 08-11
Brand: Stomp Grip
Product name: Traction Pad General Purpose Rectangular
Brand: Keti Tank Pad
Brand: TSR Technical Sports Racing, Product Name: Endurance Stand Hook
This is another TSR lol. This is the crab-shaped stand hook that you see on many endurance racers, and I wanted to have it on my CBR so badly that I had it installed when I took delivery. I love it because it makes the stand-up easier and more stable.
Besides this, I'm covered in TSR products
Brand: TSR Technical Sports Racing
Product name: FRP Under Cowl
Brand: TSR Technical Sports Racing
Product name: Carbon Rear Fender
Brand: TSR Technical Sports Racing
Product name: Single seat cowl works type
There are more, but I can't write them down, so I'll pass.
There are a few other customization points such as LED lights, but I'll leave it at this for now.
Customization that I want to do in the future
The photo shows Cape Gamoda in Tokushima Prefecture, the easternmost point of Shikoku.
I'd like to make the front brake lines SBK compliant, but it's quite a hurdle.
- Suspension Custom
I want to replace the front forks with cartridges and the rear shock with an external one to get the right settings. Matris, Muppo, and Bitubo are the candidates.
- ECU setting
Since the fuel balance is probably off due to the customization of the intake and exhaust system, we want to make sure that we get the right settings for the motorcycle.
- Racerization
Eventually, I'd like to buy a trampoline and use it for closed.
It's going to be a swampy motorcycle life from now on.
