This is Kenny Sagawa, I'm Motorcycle Journalist.
This time, I will introduce you Triumph "Street Scrambler."
Street scrambler is a updated model that the original taste of in the good old times in 60 's such as TR 6 and Bonneville scrambler that used to be active at California dessert race.
A new generation water-cooled parallel two-cylinder SOHC 4 valve 900 cc engine is installed .
The engine is full of the sense of beating and it is very pleasant.
A digital type tachometer embedded in a simple analog type speedometer is installed.
Therefore, it is easy to understand the comfortable engine speed.
About 2,000 rpm is the best when you enjoy cruising while watching the scenery.
It's a pleasant feeling like being wrapped in the beating of the engine.
On the other hand, the feeling of pulsation decreases from about 4000 rpm, and it changes to a smooth feeling.
It is a very easy-to-use rpm range when riding winding road.
It is a motorcycle that you can enjoy the characteristics changes according to what rotation area are used.
Even when I compared with Street Twin which a similar engine was installed, I could feel the sense of beating was stronger.
Especially for this motorcycle, Bance & Hynes' genuine option exhaust system was installed as an inspiration kit so that I could enjoy a crisp sound.
19 inches front wheels are installed that is larger wheel than the front wheels of Street Twin.
Therefore, the handle maneuver has a sense of stability, and it feels a little heavy.
I think straight-line stability is very good.
Even in a winding road, if I move my weight according to Street Scrambler's generous handling, I also can turn back the motorcycle easily.
Although the body shape is slim and compact, I could enjoy riding which is typical of large displacement since it has 900cc big torque.
Even more dynamic riding than Street Twin is possible.
Let's straddle.
My feet can easily touch the ground.
The width of the seat is slim, and the position of the steps are also in a natural position.
The handlebar is wide and has a height.
I think that width of the handlebar is wider than Street Twin.
It is a riding position that assumed off-road riding as well.
The riding position is upright and it is very comfortable.
Dirt riding is also assumed, so that it is easy to keep standing riding position as well.
A step stability works well when I take a standing position.
I have tested ride at a forest road as well.
Although the summer tires were installed on the motorcycle, I was able to ride without any problems on a flat dirt road.
When it comes to full-fledged dirt road with gap, it may necessary to change tires.
However, I think I can ride on those kind of dirt road only if I trace the line easy and safe.
I think that the flexibility of the 19-inch spoke wheel and fork is improving the riding performance.
Add on that, a wide and up style handlebar and a riding position where I can take a standing position is also the point that make it possible.
The high controllability when slipping makes the dual-purpose model be attractive.
This motorcycle makes possible to enjoy riding at coastline comfortably as well.
Traction control and ABS are also installed as a standard equipment.
By using these functions well, riding while checking on the road condition that is constantly changing is a part of the fun as well.
Moderate size feeling that can be used in town rides. The power and torque that can run a highway.
It is a model equipped with flexible suspensions that make possible riding on a winding road and off-road.
I think that Street Scrambler is a universal sports model with an almighty riding performance.
It also has a classical appearance that reminds me of tradition of Triumph.
