New KATANA Test Riding Review Video by Nobuatsu Aoki

Motorcycle Reviews

The new KATANA model was exhibited at the Osaka Motorcycle Show held on March 15 to 17, and the actual exhibition at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show held on March 22 to 24. New official videos were published and its content has attracted attention. The riding location was tested in Kyoto, and the test rider is Mr. Nobuatsu Aoki (Former MotoGP Rider).

The traditional K5 engine is good match with this chassis.

This video consists of explanations when actually riding and when getting off from the machine. Let me introduce the following details below. *I've edited some of the hard-to-read words as it's spoken.

I couldn't believe how much fun this motorcycle is. A proper engine in a proper chassis. And the riding position is fantastic. I was surprised how easy to ride it is.

The all-new KATANA is fitted with an engine that offers an incredibly comfortable ride: a traditional GSX-R1000 K5. It came out with a very easy-to-ride engine. Suzuki chose the K5 configuration for its long stroke, which delivers tenacious torque for pure excitement at low rev and medium speeds and linear engine response. The accelerator and rear tire seem to move as one, inspiring great confidence.

The road surface is wet today and strewn with fallen leaves, yet the traction control and ABS support the bike for easy riding with complete confidence.

"I love the riding position built into the KATANA, including the handlebars. Obviously, I'm riding the all-new KATANA for the first time today. But the positioning of the handlebars feels natural for the first time out, testifying to the value of Suzuki tradition."

"The power at full throttle is important, but very little time is spent at full power. Much more of our time is spent just easing open the throttle from the fully closed position. I'd rather feel the smooth pickup you'd expect from a two-stroke or GP machine. When the engine kicks in and the chain tenses, it's important to have a mechanism that gradually increases the load to the rear tire. The KATANA seems to have such a system, but it hides it. Yes, it's in there! I thought so! Honestly, the truth is I'm impressed. The KATANA is equipped with both traction control and ABS, so, I'll bet it's a lot of fun whether riding in the city, on winding country roads, or on the race track. It's a bike that's fun for just about everyone."

That's where the above video is told. Please wait for further follow-up!
