Yamaha XT250X Owner Review

Webike Community "Let's Talk About Your Motorcycle! From the campaign, here's a passionate narrative from 'horihori' who rides an XT250X!
He talks about the advantages and disadvantages of the XT250X and gives us an in-person review of the XT250X, which he understands because he's the owner.

[A brief self-introduction]

  • Motorcycle history and how I usually enjoy my motorcycle.
    26 years on the bike.

I used to ride at a ratio of 7:3 in the mountains to commute, but for the last 6 years I've been almost exclusively commuting.
(Having kids makes it impossible for me to go riding!)
As much as I can't go for a ride, I'm enjoying swapping out small parts!

  • How long have you been riding this bike?
I've driven about 25,000 km in 5 years. (5,000 miles a year is a small number!!!)

  • Motive for purchase
The motorcycle I was riding before the current model broke down once a year and I was struggling with the cost of repairing it when I had a baby and bought a new house.

I chose it as a bike that meets the transfer conditions!
(1)Safe and stable domestic production
(2) I don't have my motorcycle inspected, less than 250cc.
(3) Price that can be transferred by trade-in of view (that's why I bought a used one)
(4) Feeling a little motored

[Satisfied points and advantages

  • For applications
It was a great choice for my main commuter!
Good fuel economy, no breakdowns, and light weight for easy handling!

Also, since it's a serow base, it has a lot of low speed torque and no worries about stalling, even if you're pretty rough with the clutch.
(It helps with stop-and-go commuting.)

  • For riding
At first I thought "it's only 18PS anyway" but I was betrayed in a good way.
The balance between power and chassis is perfect and it feels good to feel that the bike is using up all of its potential.
And on mountain roads, the light weight of the bike, combined with the deep bank angle characteristic of the off-bike base, makes it flutter and flutter at a pace that is much faster than you would expect. I've seen quite a few people driving this car for the track, so the chassis itself must have great potential!

  • For appearance
The front mask is one of the coolest off-road cars/motards in the country and abroad.
Not the odd-shaped lights, but the square eyes, which is cool!
I especially like the molding around the lights at the angle of the photo.

The rear area, on the contrary, is stylish as the LED lights are treated to the same old R6-like LED lights instead of the square tail lights that are often found on off cars.
And the final edition of the Cerro has the same lights!

[Dissatisfaction/weaknesses]

  • For applications
I don't have any complaints about the car, but the only thing I can say is that the reduction ratio of 1st and 2nd gears is far apart, so there is a "short on the belt, long on the taskmaster" situation when the car is strolling. The speed range in the commuting traffic is just like that.

  • For riding
I want a 6-speed. I really want it. I'm sure 90% of the people on this have shoveled up the "phantom 6-speed"!
For a single-cylinder engine, it would have been nice to have a 6-speed, as the power band is much narrower than I expected...
Also, the point where the front suspension becomes lacking when you pick up the pace.
(Strangely enough, I don't get those complaints with the rear suspension.)

  • For appearance
The front fender is too long. I busted it out as soon as I got it! (Chuckles)
The picture will be a busted up version!

What do you think of the Murasaki wheels? (A Yamaha off-road car tradition?)
When I made the rim stripes fluorescent yellow, the parents of my kids' friends told me, "Oh, that's the color of EAN 00rion! I was told (the color of Unit 6 or Unit 13?).

[Summary (Recommended for people like this, etc.)

This is the kind of person I recommend!

Anyone who wants to ride a bike that is different from others.
We don't see them any more than bad imports.
People who want a "feeling of being used up".
Anyone looking for an easy second bike.
Of course, if you're a beginner.
It's based on the Cerro, so it's very easy to ride!

Finally.
This is one motorcycle I want to continue to ride. Aim for 50,000 km first!

Thank you, horihori, for a narrative that shows so much love for the XT250X!
