Kawasaki Z250SL Owner Review

Introducing the passionate story of MTXR who rides the Z250SL, from Webike Community's "My Beloved Moto" campaign.

He shares his reviews of the Z250SL, including the advantage and the disadvantage, which he understands well because he is the owner.

Brief self-introduction

Motorcycle experience: 32 years (since moped)

How I enjoy my motorcycle on a regular basis?
I think it is 60% to ride and 40% to tinker with. Commuting & shopping and motorcycle walking are my main activities. Touring about once a year. (Day trip)

How long I have been riding this motorcycle?
I've been here for 6 years now. I have the impression that I just came here, but it's been a long time (^_^;)

Motive for purchase
I fell in love with the motorcycle at first sight from the pictures online and asked for a test ride at my favorite motorcycle shop and asked to buy a test ride. I had no idea that I would be able to own this motorcycle until just before I got it.

Satisfaction

For applications
It is light and compact, yet has enough power. It's easy to ride, performs well, and its compactness helps to save storage space. That's what I'm talking about.

For riding
It's light and accelerates well at 29PS. Touring with a large engine is also fine. The direct feeling only a single cylinder can give is pleasant, and it is good at winding and curving roads.

For appearance
I fell in love with the design at first sight, so I'm customizing it to keep the look as unchanged as possible.

Other
New motorcycle prices are low!

Dissatisfaction

For applications
There is no load capacity at all. The rear box solves this problem, but if you don't like the look of the rear box, please be prepared to carry a day bag on your back.

For riding
It can be tiring in situations where there are a lot of long straight roads. Pillion riding is also not suitable for this.

For appearance
This is all a matter of style. If you like it, no problem. (If you don't like it, you won't buy it, right?)

Other
Unpopularity, turned away by custom manufacturers. Short production life, abandoned by manufacturers.

The position of the motorcycle is a little tight (I'm 170cm tall), so I have to adjust the footpeg downward and the handlebar upward, but I guess that's part of the fun.
(The footpeg in the photo is the STD, but I replaced it with a universal footpeg that can be adjusted downward.)

Summary

Recommendation
  (1) Must be less than 170cm tall.
  (2) Those who believe that motorcycles are meant to be ridden alone.
  (3) Those who are waiting for the return of the SDR (YAMAHA), CS250 (Kawasaki) and Goose250.
  (4) Those seeking a motorcycle that no one else is riding.
  (5) If you have a wife who is annoyed by your motorcycle and says it's in the way, you need a place to store it.

Not Recommended
  (1) Must be at least 180 cm tall.
  (2) Frequent long-distance touring.
  (3) Those who have a lot of tandems in the rear.
  (4) For those who want to be buried under the many exclusive custom parts available.

Thank you, MTXR, for a narrative that shows so much love for the Z250SL!
