Yamaha YZF-R6 Owner Review

Introducing the passionate story from Yama-ha who rides the YZF-R6, from Webike Community's "My Beloved Moto" campaign.

He shares his reviews of the YZF-R6, including the advantage and the disadvantage, which he understands well because he is the owner.

Brief self-introduction

Motorcycle history and how I usually enjoy my motorcycle?

I have been riding a 250cc motorcycle for eight years and when I was thinking about buying a bigger motorcycle soon, I found the YZF-R6 that I had been looking for and bought it. I usually go out for touring on my days off to ride solo or to eat good food with my friends. From now on, I'd like to do some camping in addition to touring.

How long I have been riding this motorcycle?
It's only been about 4 months since I bought it and has about 1500km on it.

Motive for purchase
Just as it was love at first sight when I bought a mid-size motorcycle, I fell in love with the coolness of the motorcycle at first sight, and I had always decided that if I was going to buy a large motorcycle, it would be the YZF-R6. And there happened to be one that had the body color, wheels, and motorcycle condition that I wanted that was 100 points, so I bought it! The motorcycle that inspired me to get on a motorcycle, a 2009 YZF-R1, was a bit of a contender.

I decide to buy a motorcycle based on the design and the motorcycle I want to ride, rather than choosing a motorcycle based on use, fuel economy, specs, etc. I would definitely rather go touring on a motorcycle that I like and that I want to ride.

Satisfaction

For applications
The power is sufficient for a touring motorcycle, it can go on the highway with ease and has plenty of room to go around town. The fuel consumption is 22km/L for touring and 17km/L in town.

For riding
The engine performs well, like a 250cc multi, and sounds satisfying even in stock form. Quick acceleration from anywhere.

For appearance
It's cool and satisfying from both the front and rear. The front is cool and cute, the rear is very cool with its sharpness, and the tire size is 180, so it looks big from the back. I think it's the best-designed motorcycle in the 600cc class.

Dissatisfaction

For the purpose of use and riding
I don't have any complaints about the use or ride. I'm riding the motorcycle I want to ride and I don't feel the position is very tight or anything like that for me.

For appearance
Under the seat, I can only fit ETC, documents, and cables. (I think current motorcycles also have little space under the seat.)

The net doesn't fit, so you need a seat bag or a backpack to buy souvenirs when touring. The stock rear fender is not as cool as it should be... I would recommend going to the fender eliminator.

The only drawback is that it's hot.
My pants are steaming from the heat, and I'm sure the biggest motorcycle would do the same since the heat is so great.

Summary

Recommended for riders who focus more on design than on usage.

The seat height is high, so smaller riders may have a little trouble. If you are concerned about it, you should try riding it at a used motorcycle shop.

If you are torn between the current YZF-R6 (BN6) and the one you like, you should buy the one with the design you like. I can guarantee the coolness.

Thank you, Yama-ha, for your narrative, which conveys your love for the YZF-R6 so clearly!
