Honda Super Cub 110 Owner Review
Introducing a passionate story of K6 who ride Super Cub 110, from Webike Community's "My Beloved Moto" campaign.
He shared his review of the Super Cub 110, including the advantage and the disadvantage, which he understands well because he is the owner.
Brief self-introduction
Motorcycle history and how I usually enjoy my motorcycle.
I've been riding motorcycles for about 25 years, and I've probably ridden about 15 of them. I think it's mostly in the 250cc class. Except for one Kawasaki (GPz400F) and one Yamaha (Cute), they are all Honda's. I'm not particularly a Honda fan. I don't have a particular Honda bias. There is the convenience of the family, and recently I only ride a little on the weekend.
How long I have been riding this motorcycle?
I bought it new in April 2012, and it has been there since. I bought it about a month after the successor JA10 was put on the market, and I was told that it was the last unit in the dealer inventory in the prefecture.
Motive for purchase
An acquaintance of mine wanted a new motorcycle, and when we went to a certain dream store together, I saw it on display. So I bought it on impulse. I heard an auditory hallucination, "Buy me!".
Applications
I don't use it for commuting or touring, mainly for everyday use. It's a substitute for shopping, eating out, and other holiday trips. I don't ride in the rain! It has become a motorcycle for riding on a holiday, drinking coffee at a convenience store on the bank, having a cup of tea at a coffee shop, and spending time in a daze. It's a tea cub!
Satisfaction
For applications
I think it's great for a leisurely stroll. The usual mileage is about 45-50km per liter. It's a little bit bad because I don't go long distances, but it's still very low mileage. Maintenance costs such as consumables and insurance taxes are easy on the pocketbook. I'm also happy with the ease of maneuvering because the parking space at home is so tight. The turn signal switch on the previous model Cub was a right hand drive up/down slide, but it is now a general left push cancel. I think it is a good change. Also, my shoes don't get damaged when I change gears. It's not a surprise when you think about it, but this is a nice point I didn't realize until after I rode it!
For riding
If you are so inclined, you can get a lot of power "out there". As long as you are riding alone and not loaded down.
The brakes and suspension also feel "rather" high level and cohesive. I feel that the front telescoping is a big benefit. It's not a high performance by any means, but it rides straightforwardly without any strange habits. It's a necessary and sufficient performance. I feel I can describe it in one word.
For appearance
This JA07 is a big light and sluggish. The side cover is missing, making it look flat. Some people say it looks cheap with many plastic parts and so on...but I love it with all these things. I like the wildness of it, as if I'm trying to make it look more modern, but I'm not used to makeover. I also like the fact that it doesn't use too many chromium parts, which is totally my personal preference. I also like the design of the round analog gauges.
Dissatisfaction
For applications
There is, of course, no helmet housing space on the Cub. And if you're assuming a pillion riding, there's almost no carrying capacity. Well, I guess it's the same with many other motorcycles. So I don't really feel any complaints of poor usability. If you have luggage, just take the car.
For riding
I don't think the mission is very good. When changing gears, put the gas pedal back on properly and press the pedal all the way to the bottom. If you don't have this in mind, you'll have a lot of loose gears. I also wish there was a shift indicator. Just a top gear would have been nice.
For appearance
I have no particular complaints, but if I had to pick one, it would be the <CUB> logo design. Also, it's not that I'm dissatisfied with it, but it looks like a Cub, so be careful of ill-mannered four-wheelers who might take advantage of it. It's best not to deal with them. Let them go ahead of you.
Summary
It's classic, practical, wallet-friendly, easy to use, and fun to operate. There are relatively many after-parts, so it's fun to tinker with. I think the current JA44 is cool, cute, and wonderful, but the JA07 is equally wonderful. If you see one second-hand, how about owning one?
Thank you, K6, for a narrative that really shows your love for the Super Cub 110!
