Honda CRF250 RALLY Owner Review
Introducing a passionate story of Yosshi who ride CRF250 RALLY, from Webike Community's "My Beloved Moto" campaign.
He shared his review of the CRF250 RALLY, including the advantage and the disadvantage, which he understands well because he is the owner.
Brief self-introduction
Motorcycle history and how I usually enjoy my motorcycle.
I got interested in motorcycles because my father was a motorcycle enthusiast, so I got my driver's license when I was in high school and started riding motorcycles. I've ridden mopeds, two-class mopeds, 250, 400, 650, 750, and 1200 minibikes, scooters, off-roaders, naked, racers, American, big scooters, and big tourers. I feel like I'm going to spend more time on lightweight 250 off-road vehicles in the future.
When I was younger, I could understand the tribe that now finds it tacky and annoying. I can understand a little bit about adults hanging out in old motorcycles causing trouble, but it's very annoying, isn't it? Usually, when I have time, I go touring in the hot spring areas of Gifu and Nagano in a safety-first style.
How long I have been riding this motorcycle?
I've been riding my CRF250 Rally for about a year now, switching from an off-road BMW. I plan to ride it until it is scrapped unless Honda releases a big fuel tank in the future.
Motive for purchase
I couldn't stand the heat from the radiator fan of my air-cooled BMW off-road vehicle, and my pillion rider was complaining that his legs were hot, so I switched to the easy CRF250 RALLY. Although some hot air comes out, it is incomparably hot, so is it comfortable?
Satisfaction
For applications
Compared to big motorcycles, you can easily go anywhere. As I get older, I can no longer bear the weight of the big motorcycle, which is another reason for me to switch, and I feel that light vehicle weight, which is easy to handle, is essential for my age. It is also a touring style, so you can enjoy long distances.
For riding
I've driven a lot of off-road motorcycles and it's fun enough. For a 250, it's a good enough ride.
For appearance
It is a rally specification and has a milder feel than the normal CRF250. Until I owned it, I felt uncomfortable because the odd-shaped headlight was like a poisonous gas mask, but as soon as I owned it, it became the charm of the rally.
Dissatisfaction
For applications
Parking with the stock side stand is nerve-wracking. It is almost like parking at an angle where there is no tilt, so when parking, if there is a gust of wind, I feel like it will fall over. No doubt. Even if a child pushes it from the side, it will fall over. I found a welding shop and had them cut off 1.5cm of the side stand so that I could finally park without worry.
Also, the fuel tank capacity is a bit less than other competitors' models. I think the usability of the touring experience will improve considerably if we can increase the tank capacity by another 4 liters. Furthermore, it would be cool to have the mudguards smartened up and made to look like a snappy fenderless.
For riding
I have no complaints about it. Its lightweight makes it easy to drive, which is good enough for a 250.
For appearance
The oddly-shaped headlights are a distinctive feature, which is both a disadvantage and an advantage. Since becoming an owner, I have liked it very much.
Summary
I would recommend it to riders who are skilled off-roaders but I would recommend it to riders who are mainly touring, who sometimes go down to forest roads or riverbanks. For those who are struggling with competing models, I would recommend it to those who like to ride comfortably because of its relatively high ride height.
