Honda RX125FI SE Details and Test Ride Impressions

Bike SOX, which handles many models that have not yet been released in Japan, has begun handling another moped scooter that is sure to be popular. Its name is "RX125FI SE". Just like the CBF190TR and CBF190R that Mr. Yatagai gave us a test ride impression of before, this is a model that has not been released in Japan and is produced by China's Xindazhou Honda.

Although it is said to be a model that has not yet been released in Japan, we have already experienced the ease of use of the Burgman Street, the Burgman 125, which is in the same class as the Japanese models. I can't help but have high expectations for the RX125FI SE. Here's a thorough review of the equipment, ride, and other aspects of the motorcycle that you might be interested in!

Aggressive and compact

Overall length/Overall width/Overall height

RX125FI SE: 1,737mm/692mm/1,120mm
PCX125: 1,925mm/745mm/1,105mm

Vehicle weight

RX125FI SE: 111kg
PCX125: 130kg

The Honda PCX125 is one of the most popular moped scooters in Japan, and although it's produced in a different country, it's the same Honda, so we'll use it as a reference for comparison. The PCX125 is more compact than the PCX125, with a length of about 20 cm and a width of 5 cm less than the PCX125. If you think that you will mainly ride around town, such as on your way to work or school, the more compact body is very easy to use. The motorcycle is also almost 20kg lighter, so it's easy to push and pull in parking lots, etc.

Whereas the PCX125 has a streamlined, rounded face, the RX125FI SE's style is also eye-catching with its edgy, aggressive design in every part of the motorcycle. It's a design that's on par with recent sporting models, so we think it's going to be popular with students and younger riders. There are no compromises in the details, such as the use of carbon patterns on the cowl and mirrors.

Legs and position

Seat Height

780mm

Foot grounding

Even though it is a petite body, it is wide enough for the stepboard, so the footing was not sticky, just a slight heel lift. Since the body of the motorcycle is light, it can be supported by one foot, so you don't need to worry about the footing.

Seat height: 780mm (staff height 173cm)

Test Ride Review

I actually used it on my way to work for a few days, and the results exceeded my expectations in terms of usability. The commute to work is on the main roads in Tokyo, but the distance of 60km/I have no complaints about the acceleration up to 1.5 miles per hour, and I was able to ride with the flow of the surrounding vehicles with ease. From the feeling of acceleration, the speed is likely to increase, but if it's a downhill scooter, it should have enough driving performance to cruise on main roads without stress.

The compact body and 10-inch wheels front and rear can handle tight places with ease. Because the wheels are small, it is sensitive to handlebars and gaps in the road surface, which may be a matter of preference, but I think it is acceptable if you think of it as being more maneuverable.

It's well equipped, and the smart key, which is a trivial thing but can be started without taking out the key, frees you from the hassle of taking out the key, and the USB socket is standard, so you can charge your phone on the way to work. It's not something you can't do without either, but it's convenient if you have it. There are many people who would rather choose a commuting buddy for this kind of convenience than for the performance of the motorcycle.

As will come out later, the selling price is surprisingly low despite having such a good ride and equipment. If you're looking for a new moped two-class scooter that's new and cosmopolitan, this is one that will definitely satisfy you.

Detail Introduction Lamp & Meter

Lamps

The headlights are equipped with LEDs as standard. Good visibility at night.

Meter

The circular digital meter shows the clock and fuel system as well as the speed. The clock is handy if you mainly use it for commuting to work or school, the ODO and trip are switchable.

Details Introduction Driving performance

Engine

Maximum power: 6.9kW (9.3ps)/7,500rpm
Maximum torque: 10.3Nm (1.05kgf/m)/6,000rpm

The engine is an air-cooled, 4-stroke, 124cc, single-cylinder engine with fuel injection for fuel delivery. Fuel injection ensures constant and stable starting regardless of the season and weather.

Although the power is a little less than the Japanese model, I didn't feel stressed when riding it because the acceleration in the normal range is smooth.

Handlebar

The handlebar area is quite simple. The headlight is on above the cell switch on the right side./There is an OFF switch. In Japan, if you turn it off, there will be no light, so be careful.

[Undercarriage]

Front size: 100/90-10
Rear size: 100/90-10

Smaller 10-inch front and rear wheels provide quick handling. The small turning radius makes it easy to make U-turns in tight spaces. Disc brakes are used in the front only, but the stopping power is perfect.

Detail Introduction Utility

Smart Key System

The Smart Key system, also found on the PCX125, will be used to start and release the motorcycle under the seat without removing the key.

Seat

Tank capacity: 6.4L

The seat is wide and easy to sit on, but I felt that the cushion was hard. The space under the seat could not fit a full-face helmet, but a jet-type helmet could be put away without difficulty. The refueling port is also located under the seat and the cap can be removed by just turning it.

Useful equipment

There are two convenience store hooks and two holders under the handlebar that can easily fit a plastic bottle. There is a USB socket on the left side from the beginning to charge your smartphone on the move. There is also a grab bar at the back of the seat. The step board is flat type, which gives you not only freedom of footing but also perfect for your luggage.

Summary

I've already talked about its performance and equipment, but the biggest surprise was its price. An injection model moped scooter can be purchased for about 230,000 yen, which is too good to be true. That's about 100,000 yen cheaper than the PCX125 that appeared in the comparison! If you're looking for a new, inexpensive moped scooter, there's no way you can't put this motorcycle on your list!
