Suzuki GSX-S750 Owner Review
Introducing a passionate story of "Nato-san" who rides GSX-S750, from Webike Community's "My Beloved Moto" campaign.
He shared his review of the GSX-S750 including the advantage and the disadvantage, which he understands well because he is the owner.
Brief self-introduction
Motorcycle history and how I usually enjoy my motorcycle.
My motorcycle history is about 15 years since I got my regular motorcycle license and 14 years since I got my limited license. I owned CB400SF, next GSX-R1000, Serow 225, XB9S, XB9S, GSX-S750.
The way I enjoy it is to do daily maintenance as much as I can get my hands on, including chain maintenance, as well as a couple of hours of early morning weekend rides to refresh my body and mind.
How long have you been riding this motorcycle?
July 2018 to present. a little over 10,000km.
Motive for purchase
When I was thinking of switching from the GSX-R1000 to a motorcycle that I could ride more easily on public roads I bought the GSX-S750 at a Suzuki test drive event after being exposed to how easy and comfortable it was to ride.
Satisfaction
For applications
Enjoy winding down comfortably, enjoy touring for around 300km, and enjoy cleaning and maintenance. For me, I am happy with the right size to do these things.
For riding
It feels a bit more stability-oriented when you're sitting in the seat in a huddle, but for use on the open road, that's "that's where it's good". It doesn't make abrupt movements, so you can drive calmly on the road, even if you're out and about and don't know much about it. If you actively load it back and forth and side to side, it's very straightforward and you can get a pretty good sweat on it. (I feel like a big displacement CB400SF.) But what I like best is the intake and exhaust noise when the throttle is wide open and above 7000 rpm.
Even with the stock air intake and exhaust system, the sound is too good. I never get tired of it. On the other hand, the low rpm range below 4000 rpm is very quiet and the output characteristic is very gentle, so it is very easy to drive slowly. In this low rpm range, it travels about 20-25km/l, so you can get more than 300km on one tank (16L).
For appearance
Everyone will have their own personal preference for the look, but I personally like it. I like the overall slimness of the design image compared to the S1000, which shares the same design image. However, the more often I try to maintain and tinker with it, the more depressing it becomes to take the covers and cowls on and off, so I'm envisioning making it naked. Then I'm thinking, "I'd like to make the headlights round-eyed too".
Dissatisfaction
For applications
The pillion seat is so small that I'm having trouble finding a seat bag to attach it to.
I don't care how it looks, I have a carrier and box on it, but I think it would be easier to use if it was a bit more of an old-fashioned, naked style seat. Also, the tank cover, thanks to the elaborate sculpting, makes it hard to put a tank bag on. Magnetic tank bags can get closer and closer to your belly due to vibration and wind pressure when you're driving at high speeds, depending on things and circumstances. Not directly related to the application, but I wanted the water temperature gauge to be a numeric display, not a "stuck bar". (I suppose it's fine if you don't mind, but when the fan turns, it bothers me.)
For riding
For myself, I don't have anything to complain about "against the riding performance", generally. It's too hard in the winter and early mornings in spring and fall without a visor and knuckle guard. The wind pressure seems to be strong, especially in the belly area, which is a must for me as I'm not strong enough to cool my belly.
For appearance
I don't have nearly enough to complain about the look of it. My complaints about the body shape are listed above.

For myself, I have no general complaints about riding performance. In winter and early mornings in spring and autumn, it is too hard to ride without a visor and knuckle guards. Especially in the belly area, the wind pressure seems to be strong, and for me who is not strong against a cold belly, a visor is a must.

I don't have nearly enough to complain about the look of it. My complaints about the body shape are listed above.
Thank you, Nato-san, for your daily narrative that makes me feel your love for the GSX-S750 so strongly!
