Old GB? True GB?

Unfortunately, the Tokyo Motorcycle Show was cancelled, but if it had been held, I would have loved to have seen the Honda GB350 in person! This machine was announced to be released to fill the position of SR400 which was regrettably discontinued.

Well, today I will introduce the "Old GB" against the "New GB". (You may also call it "true GB".)

The motorcycle has a classic 60's look, but is equipped with the latest mechanisms for the early 80's when it was first sold. As this is a later model with a single carburetor, there are fewer parts and no special parts in terms of maintainability or reliability.

There are a lot of GB250 Clubman in the market, but the reason why I picked up this vehicle is that "the shop that sells it is very reliable"!

It's being sold at the ROMA-MC Mikaho store in Hokkaido, and the manager here is a former GB owner. The total number of GBs sold in the last 20 years is a whopping 200!
Selling 200 GBs in 20 years, that's 10 GBs per year if you do simple math, which means you've sold a GB almost every month for 20 years.

When you think about it, isn't that a great number? It's not hard to imagine that he was not just a former owner, but that he had a special attachment to the motorcycle that he drove.

Because it is the GB250 Clubman that is handled by such ROMA-MC Mikaho store, even though it has passed more than 20 years since it was manufactured, it is in excellent condition with the abundant knowledge backed by the number of units handled and the maintenance of the master. Tires, tubes, oil and grease, oil filters, plugs, chains, and other consumables are all replaced before delivery, so you can enjoy touring right after delivery.

In addition, ROMA-MC offers a unique exterior finishing service menu called "Biso".

This is what happens with a professional's hands.

It is clear to see that the [Biso] service does not unnecessarily "all paint" to finish the motorcycle, but rather, they fix the parts that have become shabby due to aging while leaving the "texture" of the old motorcycle well.

What I can recommend about this vehicle is that it will be delivered with all major wear and tear replaced, and the exterior of the used motorcycle will also be finished to perfection! Of course it is fun to polish and wash the motorcycle regularly after delivery, and it can be said that it is one of the best parts of being an owner, but it is hard in many aspects, such as equipment, time, and patience, to do this much polishing by yourself right after you get a motorcycle that is 20 years old.

On the other hand, a full restoration or all-pen would be costly, and it's a bit different to have it look impeccably new. If you're looking for a Clubman, you'll appreciate this subtle and difficult nuance. You can customize it little by little after delivery, or you can use it for touring as it is. Not only the newly released GB350, but if you are interested in reading this article, you may also want to consider the original Clubman.
