Most Popular Motorcycle in 2020! Sales Ranking Top 10 [251cc and Up (Small Motorcycles) Part 2]

Motorcycle Reviews

Here's the motorcycle that came first!

Continuing on from our previous article, here are the top 5 motorcycles for 2020 in the 251cc and above sales rankings! The top spot has been firmly established for a few years now, but have the positions switched this year? Let's have a quick look!

No.5 Honda CB400SF/CB400SB: 2,231 units

Coming in at number five, with more sales than in 2019, is the CB400SF/CB400SB. The CB400 is the motorcycle of choice for anyone who has ever been to a driving school, with its 400cc size that rivals the big motorcycles, the sound of its inline four-cylinder engine and, most importantly, its ease of use for all riders.

No. 4 Harley-Davidson XL1200 Sportster Series: 2,353 units

In 4th place is the XL1200 Sportster, Harley-Davidson's most popular series, which in 2020 had seven models in the range, but in 2021 has been reduced to three models: the Forty-Eight and Iron 1200/883. In 2021, there are only three models in the range: the Forty-Eight, Iron 1200, and Iron 883.

No.3 Yamaha SR400: 2,450 units

Yamaha's super long selling model, SR400 ranked in the 3rd place. It has been loved by many fans for many years, and finally the final edition has been announced. The special color of the final edition is so popular that it is sold out immediately after the reservation starts. This year is the last chance to buy a new motorcycle, so maybe it will be the number one selling motorcycle in 2021.

No.2 Kawasaki Ninja 400/Z400: 2,630 units

In second place, again, is the Ninja 400/Z400, which shares its bodywork with the 250cc model but has a 400cc engine, making it both nimble and powerful. The Ninja 400 is the first of the new Ninja 400s to feature the touring character of its predecessor.

No.1 Kawasaki Z900RS/Cafe: 4,060 units

For the third year in a row, the Z900RS is the top-selling motorcycle in the 251cc and above category. The Z900RS has not undergone any major changes since its launch, other than a color change, but its neo-classic styling and highly satisfying ride have made it a popular choice. The Z900RS is also available with a wide range of custom parts from various manufacturers, allowing you to create your own unique look.

Summary

What do you think of our Top 10 251cc and above sales figures for 2020? Once again the Z900RS and Ninja 400/Z400 were the most popular motorcycles in the top 1.2. The SR400, which came in 3rd place, might be even more popular in 2021 as the final edition has been announced. Will it be another 1.2 finish for Kawasaki in 2021? Or will other motorcycles be able to break Kawasaki's stranglehold? We'll be keeping our eyes peeled this year!
