In this article, we will introduce the top 5 ranking of "Recommended 400cc Class Super Sports/Replicas" with a high level of satisfaction among owners!
5th Honda RVF400
Webike Motorcycle Selection List Price: 800,000 - 2,100,000 yen
It was sold from 1994 to 2000. This was the last 400cc model with a 400cc V4 engine, which is now extinct. The crown of the production motorcycle with Honda V4 engine was "VFR", but this model was called "RVF". RVF was the crown for Honda works racer, and it was the younger brother of 750cc RVF which was also released in 1994. The price at the time was 780,000 yen (tax not included). Even now, the price is so high that it makes you drool, but at that time, the replica boom was over and the popularity was low. It was a tragic end, but the 400 of Honda's best effort has not faded away yet.

4th Honda VFR400R
Webike Motorcycle Selection List Price: 828,000 - ¥828,000
It was released in 1989. It is the fourth generation of Honda's 400cc V4 series and is the younger brother of the VFR750R. Its younger brother, the 400R, was also a replica of its big brother. The most notable feature was the change in the engine crank angle, from 180 degrees to 360 degrees, giving the engine a more acceleration-oriented characteristic. The gears have also been changed to a cross ratio. Another unique feature of the replica is the use of two radiators to cool the engine efficiently. The styling prioritizes function over good looks, which is typical of the era of speed.

3rd Honda CBR400R
Webike Motorcycle Selection List Price: From ¥279,800 to ¥825,000
The new generation CBR400R was introduced in 2013, and after one major facelift, it was completely redesigned for the current model in 2019. The new generation CBR400R is now in its second generation, and while the rise of the 250cc and 600cc classes has seen the 400cc fade into obscurity, the current 400R blows any such preconceptions out of the water, acquiring more aggressive styling and refining its presence and luxury. One of the biggest improvements from the previous generation is the change in the ride position. The steering wheel now leans more forward, and the styling is lower and more SS-like. In addition, the engine's low-to-mid range torque has been amplified to improve acceleration. Although not quite the SS boom of the past, this model shows that the new generation of midsize SS is actually quite healthy.

2nd Yamaha YZF-R3
Webike Motorcycle Selection List Price: 313,500 - 700,400 yen
The R3 is the result of enlarging the YZF-R25's cylinder bore by 8mm, increasing the displacement by about 70cc. It may seem like a mere 70cc, but the effect is much greater than the numbers suggest, and especially the improvement in acceleration performance due to the increased torque can be clearly felt. The R3 is full of power and torque from low to high rpm, allowing for a more sport motorcycle-like riding experience. The handling is just as good as the R25, so we can say that the R3 is generally more fun to ride than the R25. The only drawback is that it requires vehicle inspection, but if you can forgive that, the R3 is definitely the way to go.

1st Kawasaki Ninja 400
Webike Motorcycle Selection List Price: 685,300 - 726,000 yen
The 400cc SS was a downsized version of the European 600cc class a long time ago, but the Ninja 400 now shares its chassis with a 250cc model. Starting with this model, the Ninja 400 shared its chassis with a 250cc motorcycle, transforming it into an upsized 250. This value is 3 kg lighter than the R3, which is ranked second in this ranking. Summary
I've often heard people say, "Compared to the old 400, the new 400 is better." However, this is not true for the top ranking models. The manufacturing technology is better than in the past, so the quality has improved, and the styling is more youthful, so the products are made to appeal to young riders. What's even more unique is the "upsizing" of the CBR, which has a 500 at the top, but is designed primarily as a 400, while the R3 and Ninja are more like tuning machines, with a 250 body and a higher class engine. How could this not be interesting? If you're thinking "now compared to the old days," you should definitely take a test ride.
