What Kind of Motorcycles Do You Recommend that are Less Tiring to Ride?

Motorcycle Reviews

A compilation of recommended motorcycles that are less tiring to ride.

Based on information from Webike users, you can search for recommended bikes for each situation, "Find a Bike from Bike Life" of Webike Motorcycle Selection. In this article, we'll introduce you to the motorcycles recommended for "riding without being tired", along with the voices of actual users!

What is the best bike to ride without getting tired?

In the last issue of this ranking, we introduced large vehicles with large torque, but this time we would like to focus on standard motorcycles under 400cc.

I think the most important thing about a bike that is not tiring is that it is life-sized. However, both of them use a lot of physical strength and lead to fatigue, so it is not possible to ride for a long distance.

Gentleness is necessary for long-distance riding. First of all, it is important to have a riding posture and footing performance that does not strain the body. In terms of performance, a low-speed, low-torque engine is better than a high-horsepower, high-revving engine, but a bike that doesn't put too much strain on the body should be the least tiring. If the bike is too hard to straddle, you will get tired. Unlike a car, a motorcycle is a fixed posture for a long time, so it is even more. How much better would it be to have a bike where you can adjust the seat height and handlebar position? I think this is a more important development point than chasing power and speed.

This time, it's a tortoise bike. The tortoise is very calm and relaxing to look at. The tortoise is not in a hurry and does not lose its own pace in anything. They say that a tortoise can live for 10,000 years, but I think it can live for 10,000 years if it is so calm. It's the same with motorcycles. The realm of the unreal is ephemeral. Why don't you choose the one that is slow but steady on the ground?

This time, I chose 4 motorcycles with such thoughts. Please refer to it.

Comments from owners who ride their recommended bikes for less fatigue while riding

Here's some of what some of the owners have to say about their actual bikes recommending them for "less tiring to ride"!
We've picked them up by displacement so you can use them as a reference when looking for a bike!

Moped class 2 (~125cc) motorcycles are recommended for those who don't get tired while riding.

Monkey 125

Even though it is a small motorcycle, it is very gentle. The seat is comfortable, the riding posture is comfortable, and the footing is comfortable. The latest model has 5-speed gears and is even more comfortable.

Purpose of purchase, purpose of use, comparative modelsGrom 5 speed Z900RS
Strengths/Satisfactory pointsSome climbs are surprisingly pleasant to ride. On winding downhill, you can brake without worry and open the accelerator in the middle of the corner. You can turn the corner as you want. It's fun even if you don't go fast.
Weaknesses and complaintsI feel uneasy at high speed corners. You will want more stability such as straight line stability. You want a little more power. Knee grip may be difficult.
Advice to prospective buyers. It's a great bike that's a lot of fun to buy with all the advantages and disadvantages of a small diameter mini bike. It is fun to play in the low speed range, flipping corners on the winding roads and opening the throttle fully. Even so, it travels 55-61km per liter.

Recommended mid-sized motorcycles (~250cc) that are not tiring to ride.

V-Strom 250

The engine has no vibration and travels smoothly at all RPMs, so there is no fatigue caused by high frequencies.

Purpose of purchase, purpose of use, comparative modelsThis is my first time choosing a mid-size. The points that I thought I couldn't miss were as follows.

It must be able to carry luggage. (Easy to install pannier case)
The ability to cruise at speeds of 95 to 100 km/h on highways.
It should pack plenty of fuel and have somewhat excellent fuel economy.
Unique design and appearance that can be recognized at a glance.

At this point, the hardcore sports bikes were no longer an option, and we had to choose between tourers and adventure bikes. Kawasaki's VERSYS-X 250 and Z250 were also options, but the unique beak style of the V-Strom series was the deciding factor.

Strengths/Satisfactory points-Style
At first glance, it doesn't look like a 250cc bike, but it's massive and attractive in both good and bad ways. The unique design that combines the charm of the single round-eyed light and the coolness of an adventure bike with full panniers is the best.

-Accessories
The rectifying effect of the knuckle guard and screen is outstanding. They help reduce fatigue, especially at high speeds. The digital meter is a compact two-color LCD with all the necessary information, making it very visible and cool even under backlight. In addition, a 12VDC socket has been installed from the start, making it very easy to supply power to digital gadgets.

-Fuel economy
Approx. 32 km at high speed cruising (100 km at high speed cruising at 8000 rpm in 6th gear)/L, about 30km even in city driving/Thanks to the high fuel efficiency of 17 liters and the 17-liter tank, you can go for a long ride without worrying about running out of gas. However, it should be noted that, as is the fate of the adventure class, the maximum speed and fuel consumption will decrease if more luggage is loaded.

-Riding performance
Thanks to the high riding position and stability from the 190kg weight, the comfort and low fatigue when cruising at 70~100km/h on main roads, double-digit national highways and expressways is worthy of special mention. On the other hand, mountain passes are not a particular weakness of the bike, and it can be driven without difficulty. It is also versatile enough to pass through shallow dirt roads at low speeds for short distances.
In other words, it is an all-rounder that can ride anywhere on ordinary roads.

-Maintenance and expandability
Thanks to the standard center stand, daily maintenance and washing is very easy.
The expandability is also quite high in the adventure class, and you can add ETC, grip heaters, various pannier cases, and attachments that make touring more comfortable and customizable.

Weaknesses and complaints-Chassis
Because of the vehicle's weight of about 190 kg, it requires a bit of a trick to maneuver when stopped and at low speeds.

-Riding performance
When driving at high speed, the engine vibration is felt especially strongly because it always performs in the high rpm range of 7 to 8,000 rpm. Also, although it is possible to cruise at 120 km/h within the red zone, it is not recommended because it causes a strong sense of fatigue. In other words, it's not a vehicle that can be driven hard on the highway.

-Maneuvering
In addition to the weight of the motorcycle, the steering wheel angle is relatively small compared to other models, so it requires more space than expected for turning. In particular, when changing lanes on a single lane road, it is necessary to move the vehicle on the assumption that it will not go all the way around at once, but will turn several times. In some cases, it is more stable to get off and switch by pushing by hand.

-Manufacturing
If you look closely, you may feel that the details are cheaply made. It seems that there is not much in the current model, but the quality control at the time of overseas production is not good, or there is a unit that is not well made at the time of new, or not.

Advice to prospective buyers. The heavy weight of the 250cc model directly affects the performance of the bike, making it difficult to attack mountain passes at full speed, overtake on highways, or push hard on narrow roads and rough dirt. However, this bike is a 250cc adventure tourer. It is nonsense to ask such a thing of this bike.

The thing that I wanted to do the most with the motorcycle in the beginning as a medium-sized beginner is to take a long time to tour to the destination where I was interested in the map. To carry a lot of souvenirs and items that I liked in the touring destination on the bike. To ride comfortably and leisurely anywhere on the general flow of the road. It is a good bike that answers such a hope firmly and surely.

I drove about 10,000km in total in half a year from 1000km to break-in under 5,000rpm since I bought a new motorcycle, but there is no trouble at all except for the replacement of consumables. Since I don't have enough knowledge about maintenance, I wash my motorcycle and inspect it visually on a regular basis and consult a shop if I have any concerns.

Recommended mid-sized motorcycles (~400cc) that are not tiring to ride.

Tricity 300

The two front wheels provide a very high level of ground reassurance, which in itself can reduce fatigue. Furthermore, 10km/The vehicle automatically stands up at a speed of less than 0.5km/h, so you don't need to get on your feet, and you can rest your body well when the vehicle stops.

Purpose of purchase, purpose of use, comparative modelsI bought it because I had the urge to ride a new vehicle, a 3-wheeled vehicle, and I wanted it to be easy and safe. I compared all the bikes. The use is touring.
Strengths/Satisfactory pointsIt looks powerful and has the presence of a large motorcycle. It is very easy to ride at high speed and there is little fatigue. The luggage can be carried, and the maneuverability is unique and interesting. It is a little fast though it is heavy. It is safe on rainy days. It is very easy to handle with standing assist. It is the strongest for touring.
Weaknesses and complaintsIt is heavy and has a lot of footing. If you can get rid of the footing it would be great. Lowered seats or anchorages are a must. If it's wobbly, the weight and the footing will make you fall! Muscle training might be necessary.
Advice to prospective buyers. The weight of the motorcycle is so heavy that if you underestimate it, it will roll over (^_^;) Don't rely too much on the standing assist and ride carefully. If you take measures to improve the footing such as lowering seat, there is no complaint. If you can ride it, you'll stand out and be highly satisfied!

Recommended mid-sized motorcycles (~400cc) that are not tiring to ride.

400X

Although it is a small ADV, the 400cc engine has plenty of room for starting acceleration, mountain passes, high speed and everywhere, so it is easy to drive. In addition, the large diameter front wheel provides good straight line stability, so you don't have to hold the steering wheel tightly.

Purpose of purchase, purpose of use, comparative modelsI decided to get a license and buy a bike because I wanted to ride a bike that I could take on light forest roads and go on long trips, and I compared the 400X, Versys 250 and G310GS.

The Versys has good overall cost performance in terms of body price, equipment and maintenance costs, but it is large and heavy for the 250cc class.
The GS has good off-road performance, sharpness of characteristics, and rarity, but it is not suitable for long touring and the maintenance cost of the brand is...
Since I'm a beginner, I'd prefer a class that has vehicle inspections to prevent poor maintenance.
I signed up for the 400X because I was attracted by the 2020 white and red color scheme.

Strengths/Satisfactory pointsIf you're driving down the road, you can cruise at 60km/h with plenty of room to accelerate and decelerate in 5th gear under 4000rpm.
On highways, fuel consumption drops dramatically, but you can still cruise at 100km/h.

It's easy to be stable on any "road surface".

However, compared to the KLX125, the KLX125 has more weight and power in the low rpm range, so if you just want to "go through" rough terrain, I think this bike is more stable.
I feel like I can bank and turn naturally on winding roads due to the weight and stability of the motorcycle.

The headlights are bright and easy to ride at night, and with the factory optional fog lights on, it's as bright as a motorcycle!

Weaknesses and complaintsThe light axis of the headlights is quite high even in stock form, so it tends to get passed by oncoming vehicles. The fog light switch is located under the meter, so it's hard to turn it on and off frequently.

The stock rear inner fender does not exist, and the external fender is also very delicate, but when the road is wet or on dirt roads, the rear suspension area is amazing!

Advice to prospective buyers.-
