This time, I will introduce you VZ-Ram of Arai helmet.
The conventional model, SZ - Ram 4, was a popular helmet for a long time.
The SZ series was launched 30 years ago, and it has been the standard model of Arai. It has replaced with newer models as "VZ-Ram".
I will introduce what has been changed from former one.
Point 1. Improve safety.
By adopting a new system "VAS-Z", they could make the height of the shield base 14mm lower than before.
A round foam helmet that is proposed by Arai, the impact mitigation system has become wider and effective.

Point 2. The evolution of the ventilation and aerodynamics system.
Diffuser type has changed from 10 to 12.
The length of the diffuser has become abut 20mm longer than before.
When you take the riding position, the angle of the aero fin flap that is to prevent turbulence becomes almost flatten out.
It can control the turbulence behind the helmet.
Also, by improving the angle and design of the diffuser, the ventilation system got 19% higher.
It can be said that this helmet gets 20% cooler than former model.
Point 3. The evolution of the body of the helmet.
This helmet adopts a body called "PBcLc square".
It is same as RX7 series that is the flagship model of Arai.
Those are hand made by craftsmen one by one.
That gives the helmet the strength, toughness, and lightness.
Also, this new helmet saves the weight about 30 to 40 grams.
Point 4. The evolution of the interior.
This helmet adopts the interior of "ECOPIA".
"ECOPIA" is comfortable interior that is antimicrobial, deodorant, and antifouling.
The surface is very soft, and the pads wrap your head gently.
It is very comfortable interior.
Add on that, the ear pads are quite evolved.
A resin base is attached for attaching the incoming speaker.
This makes it easy to install intercom speakers.
The ear pads have also a notch for glasses which is removable. It would be very useful for those who use glasses.
In this way, the interior has evolved greatly.
Point 5. The evolution of the shield system.
A shield is the double pivot system.
Add on that, you can also install a pin lock shield.
It becomes very easy to put on and take off the shield base.
You can simply open the shield and press this switch to take it off.
When you install the shield, simply align the position on the base and press it.
It is very easy.
This system allows you to clean the shield easily.
Point 6. The shield.
You can change it to the Pro Shade system by changing the arm.
Pro Shade is the system that is very popular system and it is adopted in this model.
It will prevent you from the strong sunlight by lowering the Pro Shade. Also, raising the shade ensures clear view at night time and improves safety.
Although "SZ-Ram4" was also very popular and high integrity helmet, "VZ-Ram"is evolved furthermore.
