Tail lamp and hazard warning lights with sudden braking
An emergency brake indicator light which informs the following vehicle of the sudden braking at 50km / h or more, which became a topic even when the 2018 African Twin adopted the emergency stop signal (ESS), is the 2019 model R nine. It was announced in Europe that it will be equipped as standard on the T series. The name of this system differs for each company, and BMW is called dynamic brake light. In Honda's ESS, the hazard lamp blinks at high speed, while the BMW's dynamic brake light flashes the tail lamp first, and the hazard lamp also flashes when it becomes 14 km / h or less. For both vehicles, the purpose is to notify the follow-up car of sudden braking and call attention, so the light emission method differs for each company.

Emergency braking indicator lights are adopted from 2018 model in Japan
BMW's dynamic brake light is started with 6 models including 2016 model R1200GS and so on. In Japan, in February 2017 the use of emergency braking indicator lights for motorcycles was approved in accordance with international standards, and 2018 model Africa twin and gold wing series etc adopted ESS for the first time. At the moment, domestic manufacturers will only introduce this to Honda, but since it has already been approved for use domestically, it is expected to become more popular in the future.
