OGK KABUTO’s KAMUI3 Helmet Review

How does OGK compare to helmets from rival manufacturers?

We've taken the liberty of picking out some "good" reviews from June 27th to July 3rd, 2020 from the ever-growing number of reviews we receive every day, and we want to share it with you!

Weekly Pickup Review

The high level of cost performance is strong. The visibility is widened and the usability is improved!
Rating: ★★★★☆

The center of the shield is made to overlap with the nose guard. There is a slight gap on both sides.

I've bought the KAMUI1 => GTair1 => KAMUI3. It is much more advanced than the KAMUI1, and the KAMUI3 is more comfortable than the GTair1. Another good thing about OGK is that you can easily choose a graphic model according to your motorcycle.

The official website didn't have a gray back view, so I added a photo.

The gradation of the red line and the unassertive silver line is an austere design that I think would go well with any motorcycle. (I think it's the best livery because it goes well with the subdued KAMUI3 logo!) I think the high-level of cost performance is the top of the full face with inner visor in the market.

The diameter is up to 35mm. The thickness is so far away that it could be more than 20mm.

KAMUI3 review

◎ The inner visor is larger and the visibility is wider (for not having the lower edge rim in the field of view).
◎ Thanks to the large inner visor, it keeps my eyes from drying out when I open the shield.
◎ The nose guard is protruding, but it's out of sight, and it's just more windproof.
◎ Graphic models are cheap as always!
○ One-touch buckle is easy to remove.
○ Waterproofing looks fine (KAMUI1 had a bad leak in the shield. KAMUI3 seems to have improved waterproofing with improved gasket...but it seems to leak more easily than SHOEI due to the structure of the gasket.)
△ Speaker installation space is small (speakers up to 35mm in diameter can be installed)
△ The speaker is too far above and behind the ears, so the sound is difficult to hear (the volume is inevitably turned up).
× Speakers must be attached with double-sided tape (the helmet velcro tape is very weak and unusable & the double-sided tape is difficult to attach because the velcro tape interferes).
? I'm not sure about the benefit of the IR filter (as mentioned above, if it's hot, it's not a problem if you're riding around town with the shield open, so that's more of a benefit).

Here's what the gray back view looks like.

Comparison with the GTair

◎ The inner lining is smooth, so it's easy to put on and take off, and it reduces discomfort even when worn for long periods of time.
(Arai/SHOEI is designed with a rough and fluffy surface with the priority of keeping the helmet from shifting. It may be very safe, but in summer, it gets steamed and rubbed off which hurts your skin.)

○ KAMUI3 does not have a shield slight opening, but it is not unpleasant even if you ride with the shield wide open because the inner visor is large.
△ The GTair quietness is higher.
△ Pinlock is sold separately (GTair has 1 pinlock included)
= Breathability is comparable (neither of them is particularly breathable...you'll get steamy without TOW WHEEL COOL) (Review by: Yato)

Webike has lots of full-face helmets!

We've previously covered the「helmet poll」in Webike Magazine, but the momentum of OGK KABUTO is remarkable! Mr. Yato is also a former user from SHOEI, and this was an easy to understand summary of how the 2 manufacturers compare! The helmet speaker is going to be a bit of a thing to choose from. Anyone considering it will need to take that into account! (Webike Staff: Kenji)

Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Yato! We will give you 1000 points where you can spend it when shopping at Webike!
