Pick-up review

Purchased for track day self-driving

Evaluation: ★★★★★

[Usage]
I switched from a Versys 650 to the MT09 SP, and the challenge was how to carry my luggage to the track riding by my own. Therefore, I purchased the side bags as a factory option. I will actually use it this weekend, but I already feel confident and secure that it will work.

[Working process]
Side bags: Completed. No work is required.
Bracket part: Assembly required. Easy to assemble.

1: Fix the male part of the bracket to the end of the stainless steel rod.
2: Bolt the female part of the bracket to the tandem step section.
At this time, the bolt on the left side tandem step requires a special tool because an anti-tease screw is used. Also, there is a helmet holder on the left side, but it cannot be attached at the same time. The helmet holder must be removed. I am not in the habit of using helmet holders, so no problem.

[Instructions for use and features]
1: Insert the male part of the stainless steel bracket into the female part of the bracket that is bolted on to the tandem step on the body side until it "clicks" into place.
2: The side bag has a cloth pocket into which the brackets are inserted. The pockets have some margins and are only roughly positioned. (to prevent wrapping around the tires and shaking)
3: Insert the buckle of the side bag into the buckle of the tandem step section and fix it in place.
4: Secure the side bags together with Velcro at the top.

In other words,
The brackets in 2 determine the left and right positions of the bag.
The buckle in 3 prevents the bag from shifting backward.
Velcro at 4 supports the weight of the entire baggage.

Only universal side bags (3) and (4) are available. The bracket in (2) is the most distinctive feature of this product. The time required for installation can be greatly reduced because the position can be determined in one shot thanks to the bracket (2).

When not normally installed, the female part of the bracket (compact) is just above the tandem step, so it is unobtrusive and uncluttered. The design does not affect the overall form of the bike. When storing, the stainless steel brackets can be placed in a side bag so that there is no risk of losing them.

[Items to be brought to the track and for reference]
My items to bring to the track are as follows.
Wallets and cell phones
Sandals (esp. Western-style sandals, sandals which are often worn during the summer)
spine protector
Chest guard
Racing glove
Inner glove
Racing Boots
Full-face helmet
Mirror Shield
Helmet Remover
Rear red flashing light (anti-fog)
Packing tape
Portable tools such as nippers
Air tools and hoses
Air gauge
Track Historical Data File
Ball-point pen
Mask
T-shirt, shorts, sandals
Sunglasses and eye drops
Hat
Towels and rags
Chair
Luggage storage seat
Raincoat and garbage bags (waterproofing during transportation)
Luggage net
(Battery) charger
Clock to be placed on tables, bookshelves, etc. (as opposed to a watch)
Hanger (I failed to capture it in the photo)

These are the above, but heavy items and items that will not be removed until arrival are packed in Degner's waterproof bag, while items that will be used, such as a raincoat, wallet, cell phone, hat, etc., and lighter items are thrown into the side bag.
I actually put it in and there is still plenty of room.

*You may think that you should wear gloves and chest guards, but I would pack them from the beginning because what you wear depends on the weather at the time of departure and you may forget them.

The fit is perfect because it is a genuine option.
No interference with blinkers.

This bracket is excellent.
Detachable, one-touch attachment only when side bags are used.

When the brackets are installed. This bracket holds the side bag in place to some extent.
No worry about contact with tires.

Receiving side of the bracket. Insert the bracket into the square portion and fix it in place. Buckles secure side bags.

Items to bring to the track.
Put light items and items that may be used along the way in a side bag.

Degner's bag with racing suit and other items not to be taken out.
Side bags still have room.

I have no intention to race seriously, but I want to ride on a track! I believe that there are a great number of people who would like to.

Recently, the track has become more open to the public, and you can enjoy the experience of track driving by participating in shop-sponsored events, but the problem is the equipment. How do you bring in a large amount of safety equipment if you are participating in a self-drive is the problem.

There is also a way to "wear a leather racing suit from the beginning," but it is not only quite difficult but also very embarrassing to be looked at strangely along the way.
This is a detailed implementation that solved such a problem in one shot with a side bag.
The picture you posted even displays what's inside, which is fantastic!
