YAMAHA will be releasing sports tourer ''FJR1300AS'' and ''FJR1300A'' on 25th July 2016. Both vehicles combine long distance touring performance and sporty characteristics.
New 6 Speed Mission and Cornering Light
The new model was developed to offer experienced riders ''a sophisticated riding buddy that will offer more dynamic rides''. The 5 speed mission has been modified with separate gear dog structured six-speed transmission that is the first to be installed to a YAMAHA motorcycle. Due to this modification, the mission has reduced weight.
The designs of the headlamp and tail lamp have also been modified with LED lights. The face features a sharper design and a multi function meter has also been newly installed. In addition to this, the FJR1300A is mounted with Assist & Slipper Clutch.
The machine is mounted with Water-cooling 4 Stroke Inline Four-cylinder DOHC4 Valve 1,297cc Engine that performs 108kW(147PS)/8,000rpm/min. It is equipped with light weight forged piston, plated cylinder and low tension piston ring that offers superb exoergic performance, compact side cam chain and double axle balancer that presents comfort.
The compact 6 Speed Mission with Separate Gear Dog Structure will perform 6 Speed Mission maintaining its size. Due to this, YAMAHA has succeeded in reducing 400g weight. It will perform smooth gearing at all stages. The vehicle is also installed with electronic control throttle that will sense subtle manners of the driver and offer superb drivability.
The new models are also loaded with up-to-date technology such as Switchable Traction Control System with ON/OFF Switch and two different modes; ''T-mode'' for touring and ''S-mode'' for active conditions.
The brake is equipped with Linear Controlled ABS that will control the pressure of the brake oil together with Front/Rear Unified Brake Device that will support braking control and help stabilize the vehicle.
On the outside it is mounted with Electric Windshield and front Cowl(Upper & Under) and equipped with functions such as Center Air Duct that will offer comfort when riding at high speed. It will also offer comfort for pillion rides.

Further it is mounted with Cruise Control System with Resume Functions that will keep the vehicle in constant speed. It is also equipped with parts to offer fulfilling journeys such as handlebar that can be adjusted three stages and moved 30mm back and forth to fit the rider, two position adjustable seat, Electromagnetic Lockable Accessory Box equipped with 12VDC Power Source and anti-theft Immobilizer.
AS Model with Electronic Shift Control & Suspension Mounted with New Cornering Lamp
High class model FJR1300AS is equipped with YAMAHA Electronic Control Shift and cornering lamp that will extend irradiation area due to bank angle. For your information, manual function YCC-S can be controlled with left foot shift pedal and lever located on the left switch box. It is designed to offer comfort by omitting clutch operation.
The FJR1300AS is also mounted with Electronic Adjustable Suspension that adjusts to 4 patterns ''1 Passenger'', ''1 Passenger & Luggage'', ''Two Passengers'', ''Two Passengers & Luggage'' that have automatic adjustable functions that will balance damping force on the front side and rear side and preload on the rear side synthetically. Damping force can be switched to ''soft'', ''standard'', ''hard'' and can be adjusted in 84 ways. The front suspension is inverted and has left right independant adjustable damping force functions.
The Real Fast Speed Long Tourer Developed in Europe
Since the development of the first FJR1300, released in Europe in 2001, this Fast Speed Sport Tourer has been developed based on the concept to be a ''European Transverse Tourer''. In the long travelling distances of Europe, it is common to travel hundreds of kilometers a day for several weeks on winding roads and highways with a pillion passenger.
The FJR1300 is highly appreciated in Europe for its high speed travelling performance that offers comfort and speed at long distance rides and also its agile high quality driving performance that offers stability for pillion rides and sporty rides.
In Japan it has low minority due to its overqualified specification but in Europe, its always rated for best motorcycle from the media.
