Experienced Changing the CUB Suspension and Bore-up Engine

Columns

I am RGB who is crazy about the CUB recently. I would like to introduce my favorite parts that are installed recently. Hoping for your kind cooperation.

First of all, I will introduce the following product below.

TOKYODO: Front Reinforced Spring made by YSS

There are many other CUB front suspensions, but I chose this for one reason. The reason is that the glancing look of the red spring makes it stylish. Since the rear suspension is also YSS, I wanted to match it. To be honest, any spring was OK as long as it had better performance than the STD one. The glancing look of the spring was completely decisive. Compared to the STD performance, this spring reduced soft feeling and changed to a stable riding. The bottoming at the gap also disappears.

However, because it is a rigid suspension, it is getting worse in terms of riding in the town. Since there is the case this product will make detune depending on how to use and ride the CUB, please consider carefully when purchasing.

By the way, there is another brand's front suspensions for the CUB such as the following products.

CUBY: Front Cushion with Stability Spring

CUBY product is also highly rated for reviews and is popular among Webike's front suspensions for the CUB. I will introduce the next product.

This is a genuine classic item when bore-up horizontal engines. This bore-up kit is relatively easy to assemble because it doesn't require a reinforced oil pump and it doesn't cause a significant increase in oil temperature.

By the way, since the CUB I currently own is the first 4-mini motorcycle I purchased in December 2014, and bore-up an engine was also my first experience. About the customizing condition of the CUB when purchasing it, it had 50cc, high camshaft, high compression piston, and PC20 carburetor.

In this situation, the engine had rotated well but had slowed down when it entered the slope at 3rd gear. I was commuting by the CUB under that situation, but I couldn't stand it anymore and decided to install the bore-up kit to the CUB.

This is also a genuine classic item of what is necessary for 4-mini bore-up.

I have an experience in the overhaul of the upper part of the D Tracker's engine before, so I thought I could install the bore-up kit to the CUB, but I bought this book just in case.

As a matter of fact, what I saw during the work was just the torque management part, and the others were almost invisible. And I realized at this moment that this book is made of paper that is hard to absorb oil. When you are working on the engine, we will inevitably have oil in our hands, and if we will touch a service manual by dirty hands, it makes become pitch black. But in the case of this book, it is becoming less likely.

I think this is a pretty nice thoughtfulness. By the way, speaking of performance after installing the bore-up kit, the CUB now accelerates, even when climbing uphill by 3rd-gear! Anyway, I am happy now because of this performance. Of course, the acceleration performance on the flat road is much better than I expected, so it was a rather satisfactory product.

The setting of the carburetor is not yet complete, but I am looking forward to thinking that if I will come close to a conclusion to its best setting more, its power may increase further. While regretting to enter the world of 4st-mini bike customizing, which is rumored that it does not matter how much money I have, I am enjoying the fun of 4st-mini bike nowadays.
