Here's a touring experience among the riders, who submitted the Webike Community "MOTO HACK Touring" Campaign, about using a touring item that you might be interested in.
Here are some of the other riders' favorite goodies you don't usually get to see!
In this article, I would like to share with you some of Yuu's favorite touring items and ideas on his Ninja 1000.
Yuu Profile
About the motorcycle
I bought a 2019 Ninja 1000 to become a returnee rider. I used it for touring only and broke the 10000km mark.
The usual touring style
I enjoy listening to music on the solo touring, and having a good time chatting away on the mass touring!
What I enjoy about touring.
When touring, I always enjoy searching for scenic spots, gourmet food and sweets, and including recommendations from others in my touring course.
Favorite Spot
My favorite spot is a tour of Mt. Fuji. This year I'd like to drive the highland roads of Shinshu.
What are your favorite items?
Brand and manufacturer name: RS TAICHI
Product name: TRV080 Stealth CE Knee Guard [LV2] (Pair)
Convenient usage and favorite points
Common usage
I use it all the time, from just a quick city ride to going touring.
Useful tips and tricks
The material is like stretchy underwear (like Under Armour's Heat Gear or Uniqlo's Aerialism-like material) and has a hook-and-loop fastener below the knee to prevent slippage by cinching it up. The fit was neither comfortable nor uncomfortable. The protector did not shift when I walked around. When worn over underwear, the fit is a little less snug and it feels like it shifts when you walk.
Unless you're wearing tight-fitting pants like skinny jeans, there's probably a gap in the knee area where you can fit a protector. However, many trousers do not allow you to wear a protector with the hem rolled up while wearing the trousers. There's nothing you can't do, but it's much quicker and less stressful to honestly take your pants off once, put your protector on, and put your pants back on again.
Summary
There are a variety of options for jackets with protectors for the upper body, and I often wear them, but there are few options for pants with protectors for the lower body, and it's hard to find something I like.
However, if you wear this one, you'll have the option of wearing denim for everyday wear and more variation. One drawback is the discomfort at the back of the knee during periods of high sweat.
