MOTO HACK: A Must-have Tandem Touring Belt for Safety When Parent-Child Pillion Riding

How to

Here's a touring experience among the riders, who submitted the Webike Community "MOTO HACK Touring" Campaign, about using a touring item that you might be interested in.

Here are some of the other riders' favorite goodies you don't usually get to see!

In this article, I would like to share with you some of Ninnin's favorite touring items and ideas on his GPZ900R.

Ninnin's profile

About the motorcycle

KAWASAKI GPZ900R A12 (1999 Japanese specs)
I bought a used GPZ900R in 2009. It was 11 years old in 2020, almost 50,000km.

Usual touring style

I mainly do day touring and camp touring.
Annual mileage: about 2,000-3,000km and I'm still raising my kids, so I haven't been able to drive the distance.

Things I enjoy doing when touring

I enjoy going down the road and taking a hot spring.  Long touring with a load of camping gear is the best.  (I want to go to Hokkaido, Kyushu and Shikoku again!!!)

I prefer the campsite right near the hot springs. It's a great place to eat, drink beer, and soak in the hot springs.

Favorite spots
Nyuto Onsen and Kurokawa Onsen: You'll want to take a dip in various hot springs.
Oshika Peninsula: the winding roads are nice.

There are too many things to write about!

What is your favorite item?

  •  Manufacturer: TANDEM RIDERS
  • Item: Tandem Touring Belt TB

Tandem belts for children for the sake of safety for parents and children pillion riding.

  • Specifications: Adjustable belt position
  • Standard equipment: Exclusive grip
  • Manufacturing Country: Japan

Convenient ways to use it and my favorite points of use

Using it all the time

I always use it when pillion riding with my kids.

Convenient ways to use it and tricks to use it

Wear it on your child. Furthermore, connect the parent and child by passing your hand through the belt as if you were carrying it on your back.

Recommended Points of Interest

With this, even if your child falls asleep, you don't have to worry. It also reduces the risk of the child being left alone and getting his or her feet caught in a stumble.

Summary

・Advantage
When carrying a child on a pillion riding, you can tour safely knowing that the child will not fall asleep at the wheel.

・Disadvantage
It is a bit expensive. When you leave your motorcycle for a break, you need to carry a day bag or something to put away after removing it. If you leave it on your motorcycle, you may have to worry about it being stolen.

・ Reviews
When I'm carrying a child, I can use the intercom to distract myself by playing Shiritori while I ride, but you can't help but fall asleep. In such cases, this tandem touring belt allows you to enjoy touring with your child without worry.
