Kabuto’s New Helmet “SHUMA” Keeps You Cool in Summer Touring, Available in late May! [WMS2021]

Web Motorcycle Show

Kabuto, a popular helmet manufacturer that has been expanding its market share over the past few years, is planning to start selling the SHUMA full face in late May. The SHUMA is a full face with an excellent ventilation effect that allows you to feel coolness from the moment you start to be exposed to the riding wind.

The latest model with thoroughly improved ventilation performance, comfortable even in summer!

The interior pursues a seamless design with few seams by adding strength to the thickness while using a hot-pressing process for most of the fabric. This makes it comfortable to wear, but that's not the only thing this new interior contributes to.

This interior creates the best air route, so that the riding wind taken in by the newly developed ventilation system ventilates the inside of the helmet with extremely high efficiency. From the moment you start riding, you can feel the coolness of the SHUMA, and enjoy riding in the summer heat!

Both sides of the back of the head are equipped with Kabuto's unique wake stabilizers that control the airflow generated during riding to reduce the load on the rider's neck and other parts of the body.

Color variation

There are five color variations to choose from to easily match a wide range of riding wear and car models. A matte black color, which has become popular in recent years, is also available.

Retractable ventilation

The retractable ventilation is also newly designed. Measurements of the temperature inside the helmet using a wind tunnel test demonstrated that the helmet begins to feel cool in about 30 seconds from the start of riding. The internal temperature drops faster than previous models.

Interior

The fully removable interior has an antimicrobial finish in the center to inhibit bacterial growth.

The earcups are removable for intercom use.

Optimized ventilation hole positions

CFD analysis and wind tunnel tests were used to verify the optimum position, angle and shape of ventilation holes.

Data was collected on the space between the inside of the helmet and the head. The thickness of the interior was optimally designed to improve breathability.

And lots of other useful features!

Coverless shield system for quick shield attachment and removal and double-action micro ratchet buckle for secure fixation and fine adjustment are adopted.
